Built by the Factory is hiring developers to join our growing team. This position will be involved in the entire life-cycle of application & website development. We need a brilliant web developer who enjoys challenges. Built by the Factory is developing a cutting-edge mobile applications & websites and we need a developer who can step in and create innovative solutions. If you have experience in Jquery, PHP, HTML & CSS and you love a challenge, we’d love to speak with you. This is a full-time position working on-site at our offices in New York City. This is NOT a designer position. The ideal candidate MUST have extensive front end development expertise and the ability to demonstrate those skills via portfolio or URL. Someone out of a project management environment or a development team where they were required to wear different hats, learn new technologies and attack multiple projects simultaneously would be ideal. Interactive skills are one thing, interaction is another—you’ll have strong interpersonal skills, working independently and as part of a team, on top of excellent written communication skills. An ability to discern when to follow strategy and when to propose fresh creative solutions is golden.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years software development experience in open source software development
- Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Ajax
- Experience with WordPress Development
- Proficiency with WP Plugin customization and development
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented design methodology and standard software design patterns
- Experience with PHP development
- Fanatical about writing clean, well-commented code
- Cross-browser development knowledge and testing
- Experience with MySQL
- Strong technical written and verbal communication in English
ADDITIONAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment and be adaptable to the demands of all levels and types of production duties
- Commitment to getting results for time-sensitive launches, promotions, and events
- Able to contribute to and implement best practices, with an emphasis on code reuse and shared code libraries, but maintain a degree of flexibility for fast responses
- Must be a team-player, capable of juggling multiple projects, great communication, detailed oriented, web standards driven and a self starter
- Must be able to absorb a lot of information and produce quickly
- Willing to take technical risks and envision next generation models
- Must have excellent English, oral, and written communication skills
- Maintain an atmosphere of professionalism
